'It is too late. No time left', Nisha whispered. After that it was just a quiet droning of the call getting disconnected. I called back. 'Hello?' I begged. But whoever picked up was Nisha, but wasn't. It felt like I really was too late. Like the half of Nisha that made her whole, had already left. Like she had said, it was too late. What could I do? Would I fly 20 hours and run through Warsaw airport while the roads were covered in snow? Would I find Nisha? Or would I just find the phone on her bed, her cell phone casting a thin shadow?

He imagined that he could climb out of it and was walking to the tree line at the edge of the beach. This felt surreal! He was in the trees hearing the faint whoosh of traffic. He started walking towards the sound to reach the road ahead. A faint memory of walking in these trees arose, not alone but with someone. Mike? Yes, Mike had called him to the beach late night to discuss his failure to execute Tim as per the bosses orders.Obviously It was to punish him for not doing his job.Like Joe was. So then how was he still alive? Did Joe help him?
